About Lauren
At the heart of the difference between a good story and a great story is authenticity. It's what distinguishes content that stops consumers from changing the channel, scrolling past, or turning the page. Knowing how to properly find and craft that narrative is a skill, one that’s necessary to spark engagement whether for a news station, brand, or organization.
For 12+ years this is what I’ve been doing as a multimedia journalist and content creator in five markets across the U.S. for broadcast and digital platforms under daily deadline pressure. It’s earned me a prestigious Regional Murrow Award, two Emmy Awards, and eight Emmy nominations, along with other accolades. However, what fuels me is knowing my storytelling has shaped public conversation and even spurred proposed legislation. None of this happens without relationship-building with everyone from grieving families to public officials, who come to trust me enough to open up, camera rolling.
As a reporter for KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I work as a true end-to-end creative director, producer, and strategist – researching, conceptualizing, interviewing, shooting, writing, editing, and delivering reports live or taped on-camera, within a five-hour window every day. In the process, I’m always becoming a quick expert on a wide range of topics, breaking them down with clarity and resonance for any audience. Still, I’m never on my own. I’m constantly collaborating with a team of producers, photographers, and editors to keep messaging consistent, and maintain and strengthen station credibility.
This doesn’t stop even in a high-stakes environment at the 2024 Butler presidential rally, where you’re both a terrified firsthand witness to an attempted assassination and a journalist responsible for informing a national audience for a network news organization – crisis communications and agility at their finest.
I’m proud and honored of my journey so far, and excited to bring that same commitment to authentic storytelling to my next adventure.
When I’m not at work, I love to spend time with family and friends, workout and travel, and take in plays and musicals. I was born and raised in the Tri-state area of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and graduated from Indiana University - Bloomington. Go Hoosiers!
I hope you'll feel inspired to review my work and I look forward to connecting.
